Main Event Down to 24 with Lund Dominating, Fagerbakke Crowned Ladies Champion
Day 2 of the 2025 Coolbet Open Main Event is in the books, and it’s Asgeir Mogens Lund who will come to the 3rd and final day with a massive chip advantage. He leads the pack with 2.230.000 chips, twice as much as his nearest rivals Kristjan Maasalu (1.285.000) and Artur Külanurk (1.095.000).
Day 2 action
The action started at 12:00 with 169 players who bagged a stack from Days 1A and 1B, and with one hour left there were sparks flying from the very first hand. Plenty of players entered or re-entered the tournament, and by the time late registration closed we had 240 entries for the day - good for a total prize pool of €234.175, of which €48.400 is waiting for the winner.
Start-of-day chipleader Edd-Christian Gerhardsen had played deep into the night to win Leffern’s Hyper Turbo and needed some extra rest. He slept a bit longer, missed the first three levels, and that seemed to have been the right decision as he bagged 330.000 chips to make it to Day 3.
Johan Storakers bubbles the Main Event
Players kept dropping like flies and it didn’t take long before we reached the bubble. It was Sweden’s Johan Storakers who received the ungrateful title of bubble boy when he moved all in with A8, only to be called by Ranno Sootla’s KK. Storakers couldn’t improve enough to overcome the kings.
With 62 players remaining, it was decided to play down until either 24 players or 23:00, whichever came first. It turned out to be the former, as play ended around 22:30 when Estonia’s Andre Sörm was the last elimination of the day, bringing the field down to 24 players.
Today we are playing down to a winner. All remaining players have locked up at least €1.500, but all eyes are on the first prize of €48.400 and, of course, the trophy and bragging rights for life.
