Guillermo Gordo Wins The 2025 Coolbet Open Main Event

The 2025 Coolbet Open Main Event has come to a close and it was Spain’s Guillermo Gordo Cifuentes who emerged victorious, walking away with the trophy and €48.400.

While all eyes were on chipleader Asgeir Lund when play began, it was Guillermo who quietly started building momentum. Entering the day with just 225.000 chips - 15 big blinds - the Spaniard spun his stack up to 600.000 before the first eight players had even been eliminated.

From there his rise only continued. After winning a massive pot against Kristjan Maasalu, Guillermo joined Lund at the top of the leaderboard, and the two stayed neck-and-neck as the field thinned. Once Maksim Belomostnoi bowed out in 3rd place, the stage was set for the heads-up battle everyone had been anticipating. The duel, however, lasted far shorter than expected - Guillermo closed it out in under 15 minutes to claim the title.

Final table payouts:

  1. Guillermo Gordo Cifuentes - €48.400
  2. Asgeir Mogens Lund - €28.000
  3. Maksim Belomestnõi - €21.500
  4. Ole Johan Wasenius - €16.800
  5. Magnus Pukk - €13.000
  6. Artur Külanurk - €10.000
  7. Kristjan Maasalu - €7.400
  8. Kai Tapio Tiainen - €5.700
  9. Frederic Xavier Janik - €4.700

Finland Finishes Strong

The €1.500 NLH, the highest buy-in event of the festival, became a Finnish affair as Pasi Pertti Laihinen and Atte Oskari Franssila split the top two spots, with Pasi claiming the victory and the slightly bigger payday.

Final table payouts:

  1. Pasi Pertti Laihinen - €16.700
  2. Atte Oskari Oskari Franssila - €14.000
  3. Egert Põldma - €8.300
  4. Sten Rune Mienna - €6.018
  5. Anders Sundstol Bjørkheim - €5.000

The Finnish momentum didn’t stop there. Oskari Iivani Johan Almgren captured the Coolbet Live Special for €7.000, denying Estonia’s Ott Jaakson (€4.400) his first Coolbet Open trophy.

The Coolbear Thrill Ride produced an all-Finnish heads-up, with Päivi Tarja Kristiina Alakangas (€1.000) defeating Niilo Rafael Nikunen (€618). And in the Pot Limit Omaha 4&5 Cards, a format Finns are known to dominate, Antti Juhani Nieminen took down the title for €3.200 in a final table that featured three Finns in the top four.

Mystery Bounty Goes to Iceland

Not all trophies went to Finland. The Pot Limit Omaha Mystery Bounty began Day 2 with 13 players, led by Norway’s Marius Vik Enebakk with Iceland’s Jonas Eirikur Nordquist close behind. In the end it was Jonas who triumphed, scoring his first ever live PLO cash and live win, according to HendonMob. The victory came with a €3.300 payday and a Coolbet Open trophy - a day to remember for the Icelander.

Final table payouts:

  1. Jonas Eirikur Nordquist - €3.300
  2. Marius Vik Enebakk - €2.100
  3. Bartel Kars - €1.520
  4. Riku Aleksi Määttä - €1.250
  5. Raivo Pukk - €1.020
  6. Sören Kangur - €830
  7. Janne Marko Johannes Siljamäki - €675
  8. Jyri Petteri Tapani Laitimo - €555

“Franke” Just Misses Out on Open Face Chinese Trophy

At 19:00 the most unique event of the festival kicked off - Open Face Chinese Pineapple. With five live OFC wins already on his résumé, Martin “Franke” Von Zweigberk was one of the clear favorites, and eager to finally capture an OFC trophy at the Coolbet Open after finishing 3rd in 2019 and 4th in 2022.

This time Franke made it to heads-up play after Danny Hobo was eliminated in 3rd, guaranteeing his best-ever result at this event. But once again the trophy slipped away, as Norwegian crusher Lars Erik Austli closed it out for €2.600.

Final table payouts:

  1. Lars Erik Austli - €2.600
  2. Olof Martin Stellansson Von Zweigbergk - €1.600
  3. Danny Hobo - €1.100

Streamer Event Won by Streamer

The last of the four Coolbet streamer events, Sycksbe’s Hyper Turbo, drew 106 entries. Fittingly, it was a streamer who won - though not the host. Leif Eddy “leffern” Iversen, who already runs his own monthly Coolbet event streamed on Jevakim’s channel, captured the title and €3.000, just two days after finishing 7th in his own tournament.

With that, Coolbet Open 2025 is almost wrapped up. The only event still to be played is the Hyper Turbo Main Event Version, running today.

Thank you all for taking part - and stay tuned for tomorrow’s final recap!
